| J.T., Erara, and I were discussing the notable lack of strong and depth-filled superheroines in TV today. It seems that any decent ones are written into something less and made side stories to the male superheroes, which irks me. There are such prominent, powerful, and deep female superheroes out there, and people are dying to see them done right on screen.
Wonder woman, anyone? Supergirl? Try maybe a decent Black Canary?

| And can Rachel please be Supergirl? I want to see this before I die.
Bo: "I'm alright, but I'm not perfect." Tamsin: "Yes, you are. To me, you are."

| I already made my post about that in the RS thread. She'd be perfect and I need to see it.

| JT and I have drummed up a criteria for a Wonder Woman origins story:
- A fresh, never before seen actress with a true ability to express a variety of emotions. - She must be striking in her beauty, but with a heavy, powerful visual presence about her. She has to look like she could either hurt you or save you. - The character has to begin young, but not too young. Say mid twenties, just starting out on Earth. - The character shouldn't be the kind of character tied to a character-crushing relationship. Her relationships should be brief in mention or very background. - The show has to be decently dark. Too light and the power of it will be lost. - The character needs to be working towards becoming the powerful wonder woman that we all know and love. That being she needs to be finding bits of herself as the show progresses. - There has to be action, superpowers, bits of Themyscira (because epic Amazon world is epic), and depth of character. - The costumes should be made more modern, but stay true to the original wonder woman. She is a symbol, after all.
Care to add to it?

| Quote (ValkyrieLiquorCabinet) And seriously all of my favourite shows have a female as a lead heroine I think it's become sort of instinctual for me to gravitate towards shows with a female lead. If it sucks, I move on. If it doesn't, I get obsessed.

| I'd kill to get a tv show about SuperGirl. She's always been my favorite *sob* and I really liked how Laura Vandervoort portrayed her in Smallville, but of course, she was thrown aside in favor of Clark (which was totally understandable, since SV was about him, but STILL).
And the stupid CW keeps pushing back ordering the pilot for Wonder Woman. They keep saying "next year" and then they backtrack. Sigh. Maybe fall 2014?

But the CW isn't the WB anymore. :/ I'm not sure I have faith in their ability to make a good superhero show. They fucked Arrow up, massacring the Green Arrow plot-line and tossing Black Canary's arc entirely out the window, not to mention ridding the world of powers entirely. It just. No. I kind of reallllyy don't want the CW to make the show.

| I couldn't get past Arrow's first episode, to be honest. And this coming from someone that LOVES superheroes, but that show... Just.... No. They seriously destroyed him. idk maybe another network will pick it up? I honestly don't think a show about a superheroine fits the CW, but they seem to be the only ones interested.

Definitely don't think it fits the CW. Not sure what other channel I'd settle for, but someone needs to pick it up and do it right. Supergirl, wonder woman, bat girl, black canary, etc.
I need my super-heroines.

| Well, they're going to do a Peggy Carter TV series, so...I don't know how I feel about that.

| Quote (Eternal-Dust) Well, they're going to do a Peggy Carter TV series How convenient, now with SHIELD airing and all that. Meh, I don't find her particularly interesting, so I don't really care either way.

| I also want a show about Black Widow.
And speaking of Wonder Woman. Any suggestions on possible actresses? My friends and I were just discussing it over dinner earlier and we though maybe Jaimie Alexander (she plays Sif in the Thor movies) could pull it off.

| Quote (JT) Jaimie Alexander (she plays Sif in the Thor movies) could pull it off. I don't know. She's awesome, but I'm not sure her voice would match it. She could pull it off, but she wouldn't be my first choice. I hold to a newcomer.
