| When you want to do a direct link just click the "image" button in the post form. It should be right next to the chain icon. Make sure that the picture width is no larger than 600px, otherwise you might need to resize it.

I have no idea how to make animated gifs, but I've done simple 100x100 icons for various shows before (nothing fancy). I might take a crack at making a few Valkubus avatar pics for the site. Got some free time coming up.
The boozy Tamsin avatar that Eternal-Dust has is pure awesome.
